“Niomon, the Japanese Temple Gate, ca. 1920"

Fairmount Park, Philadelphia

11 X 14 inch, numbered edition, original estate photograph from the archives of The Bruce Murray Collection, Phila., PA.  This archival giclee' photographic print has been printed using the original large format glass-plate positive taken by “The Master” Philadelphia photographer, Bruce Murray, Sr. (1893-1969).  This original glass positive has been held in safe keeping by the family of the photographer for over 85 years.  The photograph is archival matted in white and includes a Certificate of Authenticity, biography of the photographer and additional information about the photograph.  This serene photo captures all the beauty of a winter setting at the Japanese Temple Gate in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, which was lost so long ago.  "Niomon," the beautiful 300 year old Temple gate preceded the "Shofuso" Japanese House and Garden in the same location from 1905 to1955.  A full story accompanies this photograph.  www.brucemurray.com  Image © Shawn M.
