Dr. Karl Friday, Professor of Japanese History, will discuss his latest work, The First Samurai: The Life and Legend of the Warrior Rebel Taira Masakado, as well as answer any questions that students might have pertaining to early Japanese history, Japanese military institutions and traditions, and samurai.
