Join us in Fairmount Park for a spring celebration of Japanese arts and culture! Sakura Sunday is Philadelphia’s own o-hanami,­ the Japanese tradition of revelry beneath the blossoming cherry trees.

Sakura Sunday is the centerpiece event of our Festival and will feature a wide array of events:
  • Tamagawa Taiko Drum and Dance
  • Martial Arts Demonstrations
  • Origami, calligraphy & crafts stations
  • Kimono and Japanese art vendors
  • Japan America Food Court
  • Cherry tree planting ceremony
  • Japan's Cherry Blossom Queen
  • Tea Ceremony Demonstrations
  • Shiatsu Massage and Reiki Treatment
  • Tours of Shofuso Japanese House and Garden
  • and much more! (detailed schedule coming soon)
Shuttles will transport visitors between Center City and the Horticulture Center.
