A crowd of 2,400 came out to enjoy the Kodo event at the Kimmel Center on March 17th. Prior to the show, attendees enjoyed drinks in the plaza while watching a sword-cutting demonstration and perusing informational displays for the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival and Philadelphia's own Kyodaiko drumming group. JASGP volunteers, elegantly dressed in kimono, distributed Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival brochures to an audience whose enthusiasm and spirit really set the mood.

Kodo, who last came to Philadelphia four years ago, delivered an exhilerating performance by 14 young masters of traditional and contemporary Japanese percussion, song, and dance. Please look below for our photos from the event.
